Short Courses
http://www.shortcourses.com/use/
- What kind of content is on the site?
The site has technical information on digital cameras and digital photography.
- What is the goal of the site?
The goal of the site is to explain the aspects of digital photography - how to use your
digital camera, understanding all the technical aspects and how to apply them to your photography.
- Who is the audience?
To have an interest in the site you would be someone who has a digital camera and
wants to learn how to get the best out of it. Someone who is considering purchasing
a digital camera may also have an interest in the sight, but there may be not enough information on choosing a camera. Age and gender do not matter as long as someone
has an interest and can grasp the information.
- Who webby is it? Different or better than print?
The only aspect of the Web site that makes it webby is the animations that it offers
to explain or demonstrate a concept. I don't think the site is better or different than
print because you could get the same information, and possibly more, from a book.
- How easy to use it it? Does the navigation make sense?
The contents page is nicely laid out and each page in each chapter is clearly labeled.
Navigating the site is easy and the navigation buttons provided help you to move
backwards or forwards through the pages. The one thing I don't like about the navigation buttons is that they don't indicate which pages you are moving to.
- Final comments....
The site is nice to look at and read. The choice of colors and print make me feel like I
could sit for an extended period of time and not get a headache. I really like the a
nimations. The content is just enough to help get a grasp of the concepts.

Photoxels
http://www.photoxels.com/digital-photography-tutorials.html
- What kind of content is on the site?
Digital cameras - cameras, tutorials, reviews, news, articles, shop.
- What is the goal of the site?
The goal of the site is to offer any type of information that a photographer might
want. It is also a good site to visit if you are looking to purchase a camera - whether
you have a lot of experience or not.
- Who is the audience?
I think the site is geared more towards the experienced photographer because of the
news, articles, press releases, and other interactive content that someone who is a
seasoned photographer might look for. Gender would not matter, but I think that children
or young adults would not visit this site.
- How webby is it? Different or better than print?
The site is very webby - RSS feeds, shopping, articles, tutorials, etc. The amount of information could not be accessed through print - there is too much. Also, the site
updates articles and news regularly which would mean having to constantly print information
if not accessed through the Web.
- How easy to use is it? Does the navigation make sense?
The site is very busy which makes it a bit hard to focus on how to get to where you want.
The navigation buttons at the top are easy to see and find plus the same navigation buttons are listed down the side of the page with the contents in each page - not comfortable to
read. The navigation seems straightforward. Each section has its own distinct information
in it and the sections don't overlap which would cause confusion.
- Final comments....
The site is difficult to focus on - there is so much going on and the ads are overwhelming.
The banner ad at the top gets very annoying. My focus is on the tutorial part of the site
which I found to be decent. The content is good and gives you a quick overview of the different aspects.

Cambridge In Colour
http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials.htm
- What kind of content is on the site?
Maintained by the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, the site provides
tutorial and techniques for digital photography and also a gallery of images and how
to order prints.
- Who is the audience?
Anyone interested in photography would have an interest in the site - if you want to
take better photos or just look at photos taken by others. Gender does not matter,
but I think someone would need to have an appreciation for photography.
- How webby is it? Different or better than print?
The site has a lot of information, but I don't think too much that it all couldn't be produced
in print. The tutorials and techniques could make a small book and the gallery and ordering would make a nice catalogue. The advantage of the site is that it reaches to people outside
the United Kingdom.
- How easy to use is it? Does the navigation make sense?
The site is very clear and clean. The navigation tabs are clearly located at the top and the contents of each tab is clear. The navigation is straightforward and laid out well. It is easy
to get to and from different pages in the site.
- Final comments....
Yeah! No obnoxious ads - only a small area at the bottom of each page. The site is very
clean with minimal effects. I really like the color scheme and print type. The pages are
easy to read and have nice affects. With the amount of images on the site, the pages
download fast. The content has a lot to offer.
